Why is this necessary?
In order to use saved or custom audiences for your campaign's targeting, you'll have to link your Facebook Ad account to a Business Manager account if you haven't already. This is also required to utilize ToneDen's Dynamic Event Ads.
This process is essential to complete to help you get the most out of ToneDen!
If you've already created a Business Manager account, you can skip towards the bottom of this article.
How to Create
To create a Business Manager Account, begin by navigating to the Business Manager section from your ad account.
You can access this section (the image above) by visiting this link. If you'd prefer to access this section via the Business Manager overview (the image below) use this link. Make sure the correct ad account is selected via the dropdown on the top right.
Once you've entered the name of your business, your name, and your business email, you'll specify additional business details such as your address, website, etc.
Linking your Ad Account
After specifying your details, you'll be prompted to move your Facebook Ad Account into your newly created Business Account. After moving your ad account in, you'll be completely set to utilize custom and saved audiences in your campaigns.
Keep in mind you won't be able to undo this action of moving your ad account so make sure it's the correct one!
Facebook may require you to add your ad account by entering the Ad Account ID instead of automatically moving the ad account, the following steps will show you how to do that below.
I Already Have a Business Manager Account - How Do I Do This?
If you've already created a Business Manager account prior and would like to link your ad account, navigate to the home page for that Business Manager account.
You can add an ad account from this page, or alternatively, you can also add it under the Ad Accounts section in the Business Settings section.
If other individuals use the ad account you've moved into a Business Manager account, make sure to give them account access via Business Manager settings here.
How to find your Ad Account ID
You can find your Ad account ID by navigating to settings in Ads Manager.

After navigating to the settings section, choose the ad account you want to add to your Business Manager account via the dropdown. The ID of that Ad Account should now show up in the highlighted area below.
Paste this ID in the "Add Ad Account" section (see 2 graphics above for reference) and you'll then be able to successfully link your Ad Account to a Business Manager account!
If you can't add an ad account to a Business Manager:
- The ad account you're trying to add may have already been added by another business. An ad account can only be owned by one Business Manager. Instead, you can request access to the ad account.
- You have already added a personal ad account to Business Manager. You can only add one ad account from your personal Facebook account into Business Manager. Instead, you can create a new ad account in Business Manager or you can request access to another ad account.
- You've reached the 5 ad account limit for adding new ad accounts to your business. There's currently no available option to request additional ad accounts. Your ad account limit increases based on your advertising spend.
